Challenges

How do I create a narrative through visuals? What will catch someone’s eye enough to grab this off the shelf? What is a gimmick that I can carry across all three bottles?

Juanita Mezcal is a Mexican mezcal company looking to break into the American market. This is a gift set given to any mezcal lover. Each bottle is personified with a character from Juanita's life: El Salvador, La Amante, and El Viejo.

“El Salvador”(the savior) was Juanita’s savior, so she became his “La Amante” or his mistress. And as a homage to her husband, he is “El Viejo” or the old man.

The characters personify the taste of the mezcal and appear on the back of the label. When the bottle is turned, you can see the character.

When purchased, the bottles are wrapped in paper, with twine at the top. From unwrapping the bottle to taking your first sip, Juanita Mezcal is an experience to be had.
